Itinerary

In our guided tour we introduce you to María Lejárraga, her intimate and professional life, from her prolific career as a writer to her fight for women's rights. A woman who, despite her incredible talent, had to hide her name and sign most of her work with her husband's name. Perhaps you are familiar with "Canción de Cuna" or "El amor brujo" or "El sombrero de tres picos" all signed by Gregorio Martínez Sierra.

A politically active woman who was elected deputy and fought for equality between men and women. A woman with an exciting life who had to live in exile, but who over the years had great friends and important collaborators, many of the generation of 27. We will see how by ironies of fate she lost the rights to most of her works and how even Walt Disney himself stole the idea to film the Lady and the Tramp. This exhibition pays tribute to a woman ahead of her time.
